Real Estate Scholarship and Internship Grant (RESIG) program

The California State University's Real Estate Scholarship and Internship Grant (RESIG) program provides financial assistance for qualified economically disadvantaged students enrolled in real estate courses and other activities in real estate at campuses in the California State University (CSU) system. A recipient must be either graduate or undergraduate student in one of the campuses of the CSU system. The Program is funded from interest earned on an endowment from the State of California.

To apply for a scholarship or an internship through the RESIG program a student must a) contact the RESIG Campus Coordinator and b) complete the application form (follow RESIG Program link) within the dates established by your campus.

To assist students with the process of submitting an application, there is an Online RESIG Application Guide available for review.

Real Estate Education Endowment Fund

The Real Estate Education Endowment Fund (REEF) may provide two forms of programmatic financial assistance to CSU campuses which have established real estate programs or which are establishing such programs: (a) Program Improvement Grants and (b) Special Purposes Grants. The Program is funded from interest earned on an endowment from the State of California.

Program Improvement Grants

The purpose of the Program Improvement Grants is to supplement, not replace, regular financial support for real estate education programs. Funds requested under this program may be used to supplement supplies and services, purchase instructional aids or audio/visual materials for real estate programs, and support faculty participation in academic/professional activities.

Award Amounts

Grant applicants should be aware that funds are limited because of budget constraints. Therefore, actual grant awards may be lower than the maximum eligible amount.

Submission Procedures

To inquire about eligibility, availability of funds, and to obtain an application form and the current Guidelines for Application, contact Dr. Jaime R. Alvayay, Executive Director of the CSU Real Estate & Land Use Institute at alvayayj@csus.edu.

Special Purpose Grants

Special Purpose Grants (SPG) are intended to provide one time funding to a specific project that may enhance the quality of services provided to stakeholders of real estate programs within the CSU System and the CSU Real Estate and Land Use Institute (RELUI).
